Best NLP Coach in the World

I recently received a message from a person who is exploring how to become the Best NLP Coach in the World, and after that person’s multiple follow-ups I eventually had a chat with that person.

The person further went on to say that, “I want to be better than you, I want to do all those things that you have done in your life with respect to NLP, the courses you have attended, the certifications you have completed, mentoring from different mentors, you have received, etc. I want it all — in the same manner, same sequence, things that enabled you to become the best NLP trainer in India, and do NLP training programs for others".

While, I was patiently listening to how passionately the person spoke about it all, and it got me thinking, about what all I did. Also, I was thinking is it possible for this person or someone else to do all those things in the same manner, in the same sequence? The bigger question, is it worth copying someone and do everything they did, and are doing?

I had half a mind to say, ‘by the time you will catch up, I will have increased the gap and raised the bar by 5x times’, but I didn’t want to kill the passion with which the conversation was going, but asked few questions to make a point differently.

Do you really want to become me, or would you prefer to be a better you, and be known for who you are?

You want to be the Best NLP coach in the World, and what would you be doing? and is being the best (according to whom, in which context, and at what cost, does being best even mean anything), more important than being a better you, according to your success criteria?

What does being best enable you to do, and how could you do more of that, enjoy doing that, without worrying about being the best (if being best exists, and in which reality?)

Finally, what does the thought (Being the Best) lead to? Anxiety, Sadness, Uneasiness, Jealousy, Feeling Incomplete, etc., and is it worth having those feelings when comparing yourself with someone else?

So what 'Bests' are you chasing, what top spots are you chasing, which height you want to sit on, and for how long? Sitting on heights means you can’t move on with the journey and explore other areas, other turfs, other locations, other dreams, other challenges.

Rest the 'Best’, and focus on the 'Rest'
